Ambrish Sharma completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Punjab Technical University, India in 2011. He joined the University of Nebraska Lincoln as a graduate student in the department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences in fall 2012. Having a special interest in satellite remote sensing, his research under the supervision of Dr. Jun Wang will focus on the night-time estimation of aerosol optical depths using data from VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite.

After the MS defense, he joined the Ph.D. Program in Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Maryland – College Park in August 2015.
